Look Ma, no tubes!

Seraph pulled her ng tube out and her canula kept slipping out, too.  So Mom just HAD to snap a few pictures before we put the tubes back on.  Aren't they cute together?.....Now to see if Haqon can tell them apart.....hahahaha!

The Adventures of P&J: Intro

They're sticky.  They're gooey.  I love em together, but I hope they stay out of the toaster, VCR, Bathtub, heat vents, oven, tool box....etc

Peanut butter and Jelly !!

The Adventures of P&J: Episode 104

Strong Bear:  Look, Mom, I opened it (the coin jar).
Mom: Pick it up, put it away.....pick it up, put it away....pick it up, put it away. [Baby Angel cries.  Mom leaves to go take care of the twins.]
[Mom comes back to find the coins "away" in the heat vent.]
Strong Bear:  Finch did it!

The Adventures of P&J: Episode 103

"Look, Mom, Finch is washing all the diaper wipes for you."

The Adventures of P&J: Episode 102

Strong Bear:  No, Finch, hold out your hand like this.
[Mommy enters the scene just in time to see Strong Bear dispense hand sanitizer to the carpet! Mommy scoops up the hand sanitizer....evoking tears from Delightful Finch]
Mom:  Awww....do you want some, Finch?
[Delightful Finch nods, eyes brimming with tears]
Mom:  OK.  Turn your hand over.  [It's so cute that my toddlers want to keep clean and sanitized to protect their baby twin sisters.] Turn it over.
[Mom gives up and squirts the hand sanitizer on the back of Finch's hand.  Finch immediately licks the whole glob into her mouth.  62% alcohol...aiaiaiaiaiai!]
!!!

The Adventures of P&J: episode 101

It only takes 15 minutes for the kids to make breakfast!  Strong Bear mixed up a fragrant balance of Mrs. Dash and left-over-bacon grease.  Yum!

Delightful Finch decided to try the bread maker.  Ingredients:  1 cup of Basalmic Vinegar, all the Caraway Seeds you can find, & one fist-sized, quartz ball.  Let soak until Mommy gives you kisses.

All in All it was the best smelling morning ever!!

Weigh In

Angel:
11lbs4oz
Doc is pleased with her weight.  Her flat head is getting more pronounced.  We're supposed to keep her on her side or tummy and not let her lay on her back at all.

Seraph:
9lbs7oz (up from 7lbs15oz 2 weeks ago)
Doc gave me a high 5!  Her weight gain is great.  Now we just need to work on getting her to take her food orally more often.

At the doc's office, the elevator was broken!  How do you carry twins + diaper bag + purse + oxygen tank up the stairs?  ....you ask for help.  I happened to ask the finance gal to help me by carrying Angel up the stairs.  Everyone fought over who got to hold her, but the finance gal just held her the whole time.  She was beaming--said she could hold her all day long...and the bills would still be there tomorrow.  hehe.

The kids are playing downstairs. I hear Rabbit protecting Finch from Strong Bear:
Beautiful Rabbit [sternly]: Hey! Did you hurt her?!!
Strong Bear [happily]: Nope. Not yet.

AUTUMN!!

Happy first day of Autumn ;)

Oxygen

Who knew breathing could be so hard!

Seraph's been doing pretty well. She's not doing as well as before her last hospital stay, but she seems to be getting stronger each day. She spits up a lot :( I feed her on time and monitor her oxygen levels. She's supposed to be between 75%-85%. Now that I have a monitor, I can keep her in that range.

My goal with Seraph is to give her as much of a boost as I can before her next surgery. I think things are going well.

Angel has been, well...an angel :) She's smiling more. She favors one side of her head over the other so we're trying to balance her out. She likes looking at lights/fans, and her mommy. She spills a ton of milk when she eats....and doesn't like it when I give her chin support to teach her how to not spill. Doc says she's OK spilling since she's gaining enough weight....but then she smells like milk all the time...ick!
---------------------------------------------------
We're watching a new bedtime cartoon - Avatar: The Last Airbender.  The kids love it!  They clean and behave and finish homework just so they can watch an episode (or two!).  At first it was weird watching a show in english, but now I'm used to not having subtitles. ...and sometimes I'm the one asking Haqon if we can please please please watch just one more ;)

One More Day

Good news - we made it through another day. Seraph is doing OK. She eats very little by mouth. She gets the rest of her food through the NG(nasal gastrinal) tube. Her therapist said she's doing well considering what she's been through. She's getting a little strong each day. She's gained enough weight in the past 3 days that even I can see the difference. It's nice to have the oxygen monitor to tell me that she's getting enough air. I worry about her less often.

My cool neighbor is moving :(
I've been pretending that they're not moving....I'll be sad to see them go - they've been really good friends and Strong Bear and Delightful Finch LOVE playing with their little boy. We'll miss you!

Oh, here's my blog...

Sunday (7th) - The twins' twin cousins came to visit :)

Monday (8th) - The twins had their 2 month check-up. Angel weighs 9lbs 4oz. Seraph weighs 7lbs 15oz. They recieved their first 3 immunizations--one oral, 2 shots. The nurses each took a leg, counted to 3 and stabbed at the same time. Angel freaked! She couldn't believe anyone would do that to a cute baby such as herself. Seraph started screaming when she felt the alcohol wipe and stopped crying when the needle came out.

Tuesday (9th) - Seraph has a fever. Mom freaks. Mom is NOT letting them take her to the hospital again. Yay for Tylenol and Daddy's bath -- Seraph kicks that fever's butt and gets to stay home with her loving family :)

Wednesday (10th) - hmmm.....can't remember. Oh. Mom spends all day trying to get the computers working just right. Mom is grumpy. The kids are grumpy. Daddy comes home from work grumpy. grump grump grumpity grump grump grump!!

Thursday (11th) - Haqon and I send the happy kids to bed on time and stay up late playing War Hammer Online open beta with Guntaar. Wow. No, not WoW, but tons of fun! I love playing the RvR (PvP) and zone quests. It's fun to play with my hunny again :)

Friday (12th) - Delightful Finch runs down the hall yelling "Daddy, Daddy!" and jumps on him. Everyone is happy that it is the weekend :)

Seraph has a hard night when her oxygen cord is accidentally smashed by a chair for a whole hour. It takes her about 4 hours to recover.

While Mom is helping Seraph and Dad is helping Angel, Finch and Bear decide to pour $60 worth of baby food all over the floor/counter/sink. Weeeeeee - what fun!!! Daddy is NOT amused. Daddy cleans up the whole mess before Mommy even sees it -- what a sweetie :) xoxox

Saturday (13th) - Haqon puts on his Mr. Fix-it hat and fixes the windows. Mom and Dad and Rabbit play LOTS of Warhammer Online....until they bring down the servers. Open beta is over!! /sniff sniff. No more Warhammer until tuesday.

Sunday (14th) - The house is clean. That can only mean 2 things: running and dancing!! The kids dance and dance and dance to mostly these 3 songs: Can't Stop - Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pocket Full of Sunshine, and Bleeding in Love.

Monday (15th) - Seraph has a 4 hour appointment at the Cardio Hospital. Good news - she passes all her tests. Doc talks about scheduling her next open heart surgery for November/December. Seraph is fussy towards the end, but calms down whenever Mom touches her. :) Seraph weighs 8lbs 12 oz.

Strong Bear Makes Breakfast!

Strong Bear: Look, Mom, I made breakfast!

--------------------
They were watching Star Wars, too. You can see the TV really well if you're laying on the counter! I guess the frozen waffles I'd toasted before going upstairs to check on Angel and Rabbit weren't enough. (Rabbit's tummy is feeling icky today.)

I'm glad he grabbed the mint chocolate-chip ice cream instead of the peach pie ice cream. (He's allergic to peaches.)

Thanks, Bear.

Also, Seraph is on 1/4 liter oxygen and they're moving her out of the PICU today.

Seraph at 1 liter Oxygen :)

Nurse (to Strong Bear): and how old are you?
Me: He's 3.
Nurse: Oh, are you 3?
Strong Bear: No, I'm 5!
---------------------
When we play DDR, he always picks track 5. I think 5 must be his favorite number.
---------------------
Bear and I visited Seraph tonight. She's off the high-flow oxygen. She's down to 1 liter of oxygen. The nurse told me that if she does well all night, they'll move her to the floor tomorrow. That means she *could* come home the day after tomorrow!!!!!

Yipee!!!

I told her that she's a good girl...and to keep working towards coming home. We sang to her and talked to her....and she just slept the whole time. That's OK, too.
