Shoes!

There's one charity that I look forward to donating to every year.  I'm upset when they don't ask for donations.  A mysterious someone leaves a note with a bag on my door and every door I can see.  The note asks for shoes.  Old Shoes, new shoes, crazy shoes, any shoes.  You put the shoes in the bag and then leave the bag on the sidewalk by 8am the next morning.  Before I leave the house, the shoes are gone - off to some place in Africa where someone will get some good use out of them.

I think it's run by someone who goes to Africa as part of a Doctors Without Borders program.  I just can't part with any shoes now that I know the shoe faerie might be coming to collect them.  So, I hang on to all the shoes my kids trash and outgrow....just hoping the shoe faerie will stop by.

Well, she came by today and I'm pleased as punch!

I hope she finds good homes for the shoes we were able to part with.

Do they have shoe faeries where you live?

How cool is that?! What an awesome thing the "fairie" is doing!!

Wish we had something like that going on here because my kids outgrow shoes faster than I can run out to the store to buy them new ones!

Thanks for stopping by my blog...hope you'll be back again soon! It's always nice to meet other twin moms!

Actually, a good friend of mine travels with a medical team to africa every year and I think it is affiliated or somehow part of the Doctors without borders program. How cool is that?! Please stop by my blog for a visit, I have a special treat for you... I want to give you a pay it forward blogging award. Please come by and pick it up!!
