My Momma said there'd be days like this....

Wonderful days filled with smiles and joy.  I knew they'd come, but didn't expect them to come so soon.
Seraph at the park

I dread the dreariness of February.  Today the sun came out and warmed everything just enough for a trip to the park.  Don't get me wrong - it was still cold.  The wind never stopped blowing.  But the kids (and especially Seraph) had oooooooh-sooooo-much fun!!

Seraph wanted to walk everywhere!  I'd carry her up to the top of the slide (don't want her learning to do steps yet.  nope nope!)  We'd slide down, clap and "yay" at the bottom, and then walk back to the steps.  She tired after a while, but overall she seemed really happy.

We left all the tubes at home!  She wasn't scheduled to eat for an hour, and I decided she could go without her oxygen for that long.  (She's accidentally gone with out it for several hours before and was OK.)  Besides, oxygen tanks mean nasal cannula instead of blowby and she refuses to allow any tubes on her face unless she's feeling too sick to move.)

The park is fenced in, and we had the whole place to ourselves.  Elmo came with us....and a huge ball to play with.  Sexy Haqon brought his mp3 player (so we could stay longer w/out him getting bored, I think)  They don't even look cold, do they?
Did I mention the wind?  Crazy windy!  Seraph didn't seem to mind (last year the wind touching her skin would scare her.)  My favorite was a slide built for two.  I just had to take the twins down it together.  I don't think they cared that they could go at the same time.  But it sure made mommy happy :)

Beautiful Rabbit's Field Trip

Beautiful Rabbit has been pushing for a day at the new park.(She finished an amazing amount of homework so we could go!) Spring finally showed up long enough that we could go. Rabbit ran into a couple friends while we were there.

Strong Bear made a few new friends.  He was very brave--maybe too brave for mommy.

Delightful Finch also made a new friend.  She mostly played on the slide.  She fell off the bottom of the slide every time...but she just didn't care.

Seraph always loves being outside. She was happier laying on a blanket on the grass than in the stroller.

Angel was all over the place.

Can't wait to invite the cousins over to play this summer ;)

Spring Time at the Park

Just in time for Haqon's parent's visit, we had a few days of Spring!  Spring means flowers in the grass, walks around the lake, and trips to the park!  Seraph has a new feeding pump that is very mobile.  She loves field trips!

We couldn't let her out of the stroller for fear Angel would mess with her cords....but we all had a great time until the sun went down.  Then it was suddenly very cold!  Mom ran baby Seraph home and everyone else followed.

A Day in the Sun

I took Strong Bear and Delightful Finch to the park. I was feeling icky before we left, but it's too nice outside for the kids to be stuck inside. Bear met new friends. He asked me to help lift him a couple times. I told him I can't lift him and he'll just have to climb. So he climbed all over the place. I'm so grateful that something in his head makes him hold on tight to the ropes. Even when his feet slip off the ropes, his tight grip saves him from falling while he recovers.

Finch wanted to visit people's houses. She climbed all the way up the steps of the house that overlooks the park. She isn't old enough to climb the ropes, but she found lots of cool things on the ground to look at. One 3 yr-old boy (who had a 13-month old brother at home taking his nap) followed Finch around very protectively.

Bear followed around a 3 yr old girl who was completely fearless when it comes to heights. They both went higher than I was comfortable with, and I thought she'd be more timid after she fell from 4 ft, but she got right back up and started climbing again. I'm glad Bear didn't fall. He also saw a helicopter fly overhead. "OOOOH!!! Look at the airplane!!!"

I felt less sick by the time we got home. Bear pushed Finch home in the stroller. It was windy, but I didn't have trouble with allergies. All in all, a good trip ;)
